In Memoriam —Ralph G. Miller Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jane E. Miller, nee Fuller, and on January 25, 2010, they were awarded a Proclamation by Borough Council honoring their 70 years of marriage. Ralph is also survived by his children, Ralph G., Jr., (Cynthia) of Washington Twp., Patricia Barr of Pitman, Marilyn Hottinger (Kent) of Daytona Beach, FL, and Jacqueline Salvatore (Joseph) of Pitman; his sister, Gertrude Young of Pitman; 12 grandchildren, Deborah Van Dexter (Erik), Kimberly Richman (Donald), William Barr (Debbie), Scott Barr (Dana), Douglas Hottinger (Devon), Kristie Zentz (Kevin), Joseph Salvatore, Jr. (Miguel), Shawn Salvatore (Tricia), Brian Salvatore (Meghan), Kevin Salvatore (Miranda), Jillian Salvatore (Matthew), Ralph G. Miller III (Melissa); and 13 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at 12:00 Noon, in the MATHIS FUNERAL HOME, 43 N. Delsea Drive, Glassboro. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. The family would appreciate contributions to the Ralph G. Ralph G. Miller, Sr., 90, of Pitman, NJ, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010, in Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Camden, NJ. Born in Berwick, PA, he has been a Pitman resident most of his life, graduating from Pitman High School in 1938. From 1944 - 1946, he served with the U.S. Navy. Ralph was employed at Stratton Pontiac in Pitman as Service Manager for over 35 years. He also worked part time at Duffield’s Farm Market in Washington Twp. for 28 years. Ralph was the last surviving founding member of The Original Hobo Band in Pitman. He played trumpet. He enjoyed working in his wood shop making furniture and gifts for family and friends. He also enjoyed summertime camping at Lake Kandle and was a former member of Pitman Recreation Commission.
