IN MEMORIAM — Frederick R. Brendlinger, Sr.

Fred BrendlingerFrederick R. Brendlinger, Sr., 74, of Washington Twp., NJ, on December 2, 2009. Born and raised in Camden he has lived in Washington Twp. for 41 years.

Mr. Brendlinger was a computer programmer for Shieldalloy before retiring. He was a member of the Original Hobo Band, Pine Barrens, Millville Legion Band, Spot Lighters, Oaklyn Band and the Barrington Band. He was formerly a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Excelsior Consistory in Collingswood.

Beloved husband of Lenora Brendlinger (nee DiCrescenzo). Devoted father of Frederick Brendlinger, Jr. (Sharon), Michael Brendlinger (Tina), Robert Brendlinger (Eileen Rozelle), Barbara Davis (Richard) and Melissa Clifford (Troy). Dear brother of Kathleen Vitosky (John), the late Edward Brendlinger and the late Myrtle Shinn. Loving grandfather of Kristen, Sean, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Stephen, Benjamin, Samantha, Brandon, Bernadette, Danielle, McKenzie and Troy. Loving great-grandfather of Tyler and Brianna.

Fred was a very active member of the Hobo Band before his illness. He rarely missed a rehearsal or concert. He was always an ever-present helper in the trombone section of the Hobo Youth Band Summer Program. His smiling face and congenial temperament garnered much affection from all band members. Fred always had a joke, which would occasionally cause a disturbance in the trombone section during a rehearsal. The trombone players thoroughly enjoyed the humor (as they always do), but the disturbance would generate a scowl from the director who was on the podium at the time. Fred, if there's a Hobo Band in heaven (and by now there should be), you're probably carrying on the same way. We miss you.
